DESCRIPTION:Full Job Description:\nRising Star Instructors – Summer 2026 \nGrande Prairie Live Theatre Society\nStart Date: May 5\, 2026 \nEnd Date: August 21\, 2026 \nAbout the Role \nThe Grande Prairie Live Theatre is now accepting applications for three (3) Instructor positions for our 2026 Rising Star Summer Drama Program. \nRising Stars is a summer theatre school dedicated to teaching the youth in Grande Prairie and surrounding areas the power of their voice in art. We teach the fundamental building blocks of acting\, improvisation\, creative movement\, voice\, sound\, storytelling\, and playwriting. The Instructors also facilitate their students in developing a final presentation\, which is performed for friends and family on the final day of camp. The Grande Prairie Live Theatre strives to create and maintain an inclusive environment that focuses on allowing youth to find who they are as artists and to grow in that world. \nThe Instructors will work under the guidance of the General Manager to assist in program development and be responsible for the overall execution and creation of the curriculum. Instructors will also work closely with Grande Prairie Live Theatre administrative and support staff. \nSuccessful Applicants Will \n\nLead daily camp activities\, ensuring a fun\, safe\, and inclusive environment\nInstruct young people between the ages of 7 – 14 and have had previous experience in this area\nCommunicate professionally with parents\, guardians\, students\, and Grande Prairie Live Theatre staff\nHave a solid understanding of the creative theatre process and have experience and/or education in this area\nFollow all safety protocols and emergency procedures\nDisplay strong communicative and interpersonal skills\nHave motivation to learn how to operate theatre technical equipment\nSome experience with graphic design is an asset\nBe committed to the creative development and the theatrical education of the participants\n\nRequired Qualifications \n\nApplicants must be youth aged 18 to 30 years\nFull daytime availability from May – August 2026 (Monday–Friday)\nClear Valid Criminal Record Check\, Vulnerable Sector Check\, and Intervention Record Check\nAt least one term or semester of a post-secondary Drama/Theatre class and/or Education class is an asset\nExperience working with youth with special needs and behaviour management is an asset\nStandard First Aid & CPR-C certification is an asset\n\nThe Grande Prairie Live Theatre is committed to building a culturally diverse environment and encourages applicants from all backgrounds and abilities to apply. \nHow to Apply \nPlease respond with a cover letter and resume to John Moutray\, General Manager\, in-person\, or e-mail by April 30\, 2026.
