West Coast Celtic Roots band Tiller’s Folly has been telling tales as old as time with a modern lyrical twist\, and a penchant for stirring tales of intrigue and adventure\, inspired by true life heroes and villains – backed by their potent mix of acoustic Celtic-influenced roots sound. Across nine albums Tiller’s Folly has united communities across the globe with songs steeped in Scottish\, Irish and Canadian west coast tradition. Their lively songs of happy wars\, highwaymen and moonshiners\, sad songs of love turned sour and the lonely immigrant’s sorrow\, and whimsical sea shanties that compel audiences to tap their feet\, clap their hands and sing along with gusto. From stripped-down verses to soaring choruses\, their music is about connection\, authenticity and creating moments where everyone feels connected. \nAbout the Opener – \nJames Mearon Morrison is a multi-talented musician\, composer\, and producer known for his passion for musical performance\, his unique approach to music and video production\, and his dedication to promoting Peace Country music and musicians. He documents the local music scene through his Instagram account: On_the_Music_Beat\, and releases music through his own label\, the Papillion Record Company. \nWhether performing as a solo act\, in a duo with his brother\, or with a collection of friends\, James’ music is a combination of traditional folk wrapped around pure vocals and haunting lyrics. He has performed at the Bear Creek Folk Festival\, the Bluesky Music Festival\, the Grande Gathering Gala\, the President’s Black and White Ball\, and the new Moon Folk Club. \nJames has won several awards including the Northwestern Polytechnic Young Influencer Award which “celebrates the achievements of young alumni\, 30 years of age or younger\, who are creating meaningful change in their community or profession.
